Have a blast while giving back

Volunteer trips are a great way to experience and learn more about the culture, and have unique experiences all while making a difference through building homes for families in need, and providing children with school supplies. Everyone deserves shelter and a chance at an education, and you can play a vital role in making someone's dreams come true.

What does the above price include?

The registration price spreads the cost of house building materials and school supplies among those going. It also covers lodging, in-country transportation, and two meals per day. You will be responsible for your air-fair and will need to bring some spending money for one meal per day, as well as any drinks or souvenirs you might want.

Once I've registered, what's the deadline to purchase my airline ticket?

Please purchase your ticket on or before October 25, 2024 and email us the flight information at giveshelterglobal@gmail.com so that we can arrange to pick you up from the airport.

What kind of attire should I bring?

The weather is typically still warm in Tegucigalpa in October; however, we recommend you bring a light jacket and long pants for the evenings. You will also want to make sure you pack a set of clothes you don't mind getting dirty as well as sturdy tennis shoes for the house build day. The hotel also has a pool so pack a swimsuit if you plan to swim.

What extra items do you recommend I bring?

These are by no means required, but are some items that we suggest from personal experience!

  • A hat
  • Bug spray
  • Sunscreen
  • Shoes/boots with traction that you're okay getting dirty
  • Sandals/slides for dinner etc
  • Granola bars, protein bars, jerky (easy access filling snacks you can carry on your person)
  • Long pants
  • A sweatshirt or light jacket for cooler evenings
What airport do we fly into?

The group will fly into the Comayagua, Honduras (airport code XPL, the International airport that serves Tegucigalpa, Honduras) and we will stay in Tegucigalpa.
